Wirtshaus Beim Kesslar in Oberstaufen

I was there yesterday and I have to say I was very excited. Angelo, the waiter has the place under control and serves with a lot of passion, courtesy and an eye for the details. Based on his recommendation, I decided on the Monday cracker. Beef fillet with beans wrapped in bacon. It took me a while to get the food, which for me is just proof of the fresh preparation and the first-class quality. At the end I got to know Alex the cook, who wanted to make sure that my beef fillet was good with a very personal touch and a lot of passion for food and his guests. Thanks for a great evening !!

Why only 2 stars? Had a table for 1 hour and were swept out after 40 minutes. That is cheek. Food roast beef was probably medium ordered but served in English. Tastes good. Spaetzle weren't that special. I can expect more for good money.

Were there twice this week. Highly recommended. Small but nice. You feel right at home. Appropriately furnished half-timbered house with wooden furniture and corner benches with furs to sit on. Very clear menu. There is also a children's menu at absolutely fair prices. Portions are good and not too big. You can easily get full. When we're around again, we'll come back. Thanks for the nice service.

Good home-style cooking, nothing extraordinary but definitely tasty. Service absolutely on the ball, had to master the entire service and the counter alone and was always friendly. Prices a little too high for the average quality.

The meal was okay. The spaetzle unfortunately a little dry, the beef in the salad well roasted, but also fried too dry. The service was described in other reviews as "charmingly intrusive" and "sometimes overwhelmed" - we share this impression :) Overall, the inn at Kesslar still has some room for improvement.

Very polite service, despite the stress and mask requirement! We were there 3 times in a row. Food was very good, the chef should be 5 stars and the ambience is also right. Food comes quickly and how you order it! (Steak not bloody, or extra onion for the liver, etc.) and everything accepted with a smile! I wish the inn all the best in the future!

We even went to the restaurant twice on vacation. The food is amazing! Chunky food, large portions at a very fair price! Despite a full house and a lot of stress, the service was super nice. We can only recommend it. Tip: reserve by phone in advance! Well worth a visit.

To be in Oberstaufen also means to be a guest at Kesslar. The food is lovingly prepared and tastes delicious, no matter what you order on the menu. The service is friendly and very attentive. I am always happy to come back and look forward to my next stay in Oberstaufen to enjoy very good food at Kesslar.

Sorry guys, but you have to reserve a table twice in the evening and add it twice during Corona times. Conceivable with prior information, but an absurd distance with a table reservation the day before. In other restaurants, tables are free due to the distance. No problem if a service employee is missing because of death, but that is not an organization. Food was recommended to us several times, but no chance to stop in peace.

Great food. Delicious traditional food. One of the few restaurants that in my opinion stand out with the fish dishes. Service is nice. Unfortunately a bit cramped inside during the Corona period. Therefore only 4 stars.

For me the best restaurant in Oberstaufen. Great ambience, very good service and the food is just amazing. I've never eaten better fried potatoes, let alone the rest. The price performance ratio is great. We'll definitely be back🤗

A fantastic restaurant ... Very quaint, charming, intrusive and funny on top of that. The food was outstanding compared to most of the restaurants in the area. The ambience is beautiful and the service has its guests in mind. A reservation would be useful as it is very popular.

Were there with 4 people yesterday. Very fast and courteous service. The food and the dessert: fabulous. It deserved applause! We made another reservation for an evening.

Very courteous service! You feel welcome as a guest. The food was completely convincing. Every single ingredient convinced with very good quality and above all unique taste. In addition, you get really well fed. Definitely filling even for tall hungry men. In addition, the prices for what is offered are really cheap! In terms of price performance and generally a real insider tip!

The inn is located in the middle of Oberstaufen and is very cozy. Outside, the noise from some air conditioners, which are mounted on the outside of the house next door, is a bit annoying. The service was very slow and it took us ages to order food. When asked, however, she admitted that she had simply forgotten us. Unfortunately I was unlucky with my Cordon bleu. It was just too small and I couldn't get enough. Ordering spaetzle at cost € 1 extra. The taste was very good.
